Wow look at that

The new BMW 7-series has perhaps the best looking gear shifter I've ever seen. It looks like it could let you make that car take off and fire a few missiles with that high tech look. It got me thinking about the artistry that has always gone into making higher end cars. I then came across a certain teaser trailer for something called "P1." It's purposely unclear what that is right now (we'll find out in March), but if you watch the trailer in the expanded post, just pay attention to the design of things. There's beauty wherever you look for it.

Every Charles Hamilton Ex-Girlfriend's Worse Nightmare

Us usual, Charles is on that grind. Here's another new mixtape, entitled Every Charles Hamilton Ex-Girlfriend's Worse Nightmare. And yeah, I thought it was weird he used "worse" instead of "worst" too. I like the cover, straight Photoshop status. His next tape, First Order of Business, drops on Feb 24th.

Chairlift - Evident Utensil

You might recognize Chairlift from their song "Bruises" (featured in iPod Nano commercials), but here is the video for their song "Evident Utensil." Goes really well with that Kanye video. Maybe he isn't that original after all...

Welcome To Heartbreak-Kanye West ft. Kid Cudi [Video]

Directed by Nabil. This video is what all other videos should strive for. The innovative use of after image in the first couple of Kanye moments and the variation of pixel fades and effects make this video a must see for anyone looking to see how it is done. Well done to all involved. I hope to see more videos at this level of unhindered creativity. 3:09: little Michael Jackson nod...maybe...i think yes.

The Track Monster

Twenty one years ago, a meeting was being held at Chrysler HQ. In it, then Chrysler President pulled one of his chief designers aside and asked him to come up with a modern AC Cobra. The result was poisonous. Because of its long body, sleek, wide stance and scaled hood, there was no doubt that this monster was snake-like. They tried to call it the Copperhead, but this didn't sound menacing enough. So, it came to be known as the Dodge Viper.

My favorite Jeremy Clarkson quote is meant for that first generation Viper- he said it "handled like it was drunk." The car was fast, no doubt, but it couldn't be taken seriously as a high performance sports car. It had heating problems, cooling problems, and it didn't have suspension. But now, at 21, the Viper has reached maturity.

It's called the Viper SRT-10 ACR (American Club Racer), and it is the car I would have were I asked to save the world. The original 8.0 liter engine has been enlarged to 8.4 liters, hissing 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque, in a 3408 lb. body. It costs less than 1/10 the price of the SLR Stirling Moss while being faster around the Nurburgring than a Ferrari Enzo. In fact, it's the fastest production vehicle ever around the Nurburgring (7:22.1). That includes the Corvette ZR1, definitely faster than the Nissan GT-R and Porsche GT2, and trounces any of the Italians.

While this record will inevitably be broken, I find it incredible that that Viper was able to destroy a car like the Nissan GT-R. The GT-R is the pinnacle of engineering technology, based on the premise than computers can do things more quickly for humans than humans can themselves. The GT-R is about the technology, while the Viper is about the driver. The snake's unique, upright gear shifter commands you to sit up straight and pay attention when driving. You would be able to get away with sloppy driving in the Nissan, but the Viper would bite if you slipped on the throttle. Dodge redirected the heat from the exhaust- a major fault in early generation Vipers- while maintaining the absolutely beast-like sound.

This car is too brutal to drive everyday, but when you need something savage, this is it.

Vans (Jordan midsole) Owens Hi

Vans just dropped these for Spring 09 a.k.a. Now. These are available at Grip for a buck eighty. These are a little on the expensive side but these shoes are dope. I'm just glad one of these Jordan collab shoes (this is not technically a collab. Vans just racked that Jordan midsole right off the wall...cough cough) doesn't involve those ugly ass Nike Air Force Ones. This shoe has lifted a weight off of my sole....cuz the forces are bulky. haha. I will regrettably post the black colorway as well. That sole is one of the major drawing points of the shoe and the black colorway, specifically the Vans Owen Hi Vulc ($140), has that SAME OLD Vans sole. I am not hating on that sole however. I love that basic white sole with the waffle grip on much of the Vans line, but on this shoe, that Jordan sole is too legit. If you are trying to save a little money and don't mind missing out on the Jordan sole then be my guest. I just can't deny that quilted white upper with the red accents. Ups to Vans for sure. I hope they continue on this path.

You Know His Name

Chris Cornell, of Soundgarden, Audioslave, and James Bond fame, has a new album coming out in which he shows off even more range. It's called Scream and was produced by big nig Timbaland. Cornell is one of the few guys who, I think, has a voice that can pretty much sing anything (Freddy Mercury, Bert McCrackin, and the guy from Linkin Park are his peers on that front). In this album it sounds like he's trying to go for more of a rock/pop sound.

Click after the break to see the video for his single, Scream. The entire album is supposed to drop sometime in early March, but as this is the internet, it's already been leaked in full quality. Overall I think it's a pretty good album, definitely an interesting style for him. Click here to download.
