Why I don't like living near The Bay.

I'm a Dodger fan. Dodgers+SF Giants=Rivals. So, naturally, most stores around here tend to stock mostly Giants and Oakland A's apparel (the latter of which I do not mind supporting). For example, I was in the mall yesterday, and I walk into Shirtique and see these:
The colorways are extremely fresh, but the only problem was that they only carry these colorways in Giants caps, which I absolutely refuse to wear. I was pretty upset, since I really dig these colors (especially the gray/purple/bright green). I snapped a picture with my phone just so I could vent here, and I'm done now. Thank you. Wale - The Mixtape About Nothing

This is coming a bit late, since this mixtape came out in May, but Washington D.C. rapper Wale (pronounced Wah-lay) released his latest mixtape The Mixtape About Nothing, sponsored by 10 Deep. As you might be able to tell by the cover art, the mixtape was inspired by the television show Seinfeld (which was originally pitched as "a show about nothing," another fun fact courtesy of Wikipedia). The mixtape references the show extensively, and even samples from the show. They even go so far as to feature Elaine herself, Julia Louis-Dreyfus. There are also tracks featuring Bun B, The Roots, Pusha T of The Clipse, and Lil' Wayne, as well as production from the likes of ?uestlove, Mark Ronson, and The Hitmen. I myself am not the biggest Seinfeld fan, but I still really enjoy the mixtape, and I'm sure big fans of the show will probably enjoy it even more. You should definitely pick this one up, and if you haven't yet gotten it, you should also download his 2007 mixtape 100 Miles & Running, which featured "W.A.L.E.D.A.N.C.E.", his buzzworthy remix of Justice's "D.A.N.C.E.", which earned him plenty of praise from most critics.

New Lil' Wayne Video - "Got Money" featuring T-Pain

Lil' Wayne just released a music video for the latest single off his hit album Tha Carter III, "Got Money" featuring T-Pain. This video is supposed to be the continuation to the video for his last single "A Milli." The track is hot, the album is hot, and if you haven't picked it up yet you definitely should, but in the meantime watch the video.

The Supercar Destroyer

I think usually I'll blog about cars that you and I don't laugh at the price of, but for my first post I have something special. I really used to hate Mercedes-Benz, probably because I'm a big BMW fan and the two companies are sort of like Almizan vs. Trucker hats (i.e. enemies). But then they came out with the SL65 Black Series. Alright, let's get the worst out of the way: it costs $320,000. But just look at it, it's fantastic. Quick specs: Twin-turbo V12 (that's big), 661 horsepower (that's really big), and 738 lb.-ft. of torque (are you kidding?). But there's another reason I adore this car that's separate from its specs and its looks- its name. Now the big three (Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz) all already have their racing lines. Audi has it's prestigious RS line, BMW has the legendary M-division, and Mercedes holds the vaunted AMG. This car, though, is such an absolute monster that they assigned it an extra badge! If you were to ask me what my favorite car is, well, I wouldn't say this car. What is? Until next time.... See the full post...

New Flying Coffin 59FIFTYs

Heres a preview of the Fall 08 Flying Coffin 59Fiftys. These should be available in mid September with the rest of their upcoming fall collection. If these ill caps are any example of their new line, we are all in for dwindling bank accounts and upgraded closets. My only criticism of their lines is their affinity for morbidity. If you live around Santa Cruz hit up RCO. They are a local Flying Coffin dealer. LATE

Patches From The Quilt EP

Even though this EP from New York based live instrumentation hip-hop band Gym Class Heroes only has three tracks, it is definitely worth downloading. The EP, released digitally, contains three songs from the band's upcoming album The Quilt, due to be released September 9th. The lead single, "Cookie Jar," features R&B singer The-Dream and is pretty much unlike anything the band has done before. They also recently made a video for the second track "Peace Sign/Index Down." I waited a couple weeks before downloading this, and, in the words of that dude from Unforgivable, "that's a mistake." Good lyrics, solid beats, and just a great overall sound, this is a must-have for any fans of the band, and even people who haven't heard of them but think they might enjoy some good alternative hip-hop. You'll definitely have this one on repeat, and if these tracks are any indication, the new album should be dope.

Look out for The Quilt, out 9/9 on Fu
eled By Ramen/Decaydance Records. See the full post...

BUZZIN'

BUZZIN' is a new show on MTV about an up and coming alternative hip-hop artist named Shwayze (Aaron Smith) and Cisco Adler. I have been privileged enough to have seen the first episode and it is hilarious. Their music isn't too bad either. Shwayze raps on their tracks and Cisco produces and sings. Their single "Buzzin'" made it to number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100 and their next single "Corona and Lime" is set to explode. I can only describe their music as laid back, probably due to Shawayze's upbringing in The Bu (Malibu).  Although their songs are super relaxed, their freshness and creativity shine through and, in turn, make them hits. Big-ups to Shwayze and Cisco. The show airs on MTV Wednesdays at 10:30. Check it out!

Whats Up?!

How's it going out there in webland?! This is my first official post on this blog that my boy bernardo and I have created. My goal for this little project is to, basically, post cool shit. I know that wasn't too specific but I want my experience with this blog be unhinged and inspirational. Categorizing my intentions will only end up hindering them. ERRRK! Let's slow it down and not get too deep. Anyways...Hope you all enjoy and stay up! See the full post...
