These are a couple older mixtapes from Charles Hamilton and Kid Cudi that are worth a look.

First is It's Charles Hamilton. This mixtape is filled with some fresh tracks. "Nino del Inferno" is the rule book on how to use "Straight to Hell" by the Clash. "Negative Zero" is a fresh new look at a "hipster rap alt rock love/dont F^%* with me song." lol. We finally get to see a harder side of Hamilton on this one. Then, "Wonder" hits us with that "Dig" (Incubus) sample. Yea you read that right, a rapper samples an Incubus track. "Starchasers" also gets a nod on my favorites list. Dope nod to Nas' Illmatic with that cover.
Here is a bonus track: Hot Like The Blog -Charles Hamilton

Next up is Kid Cudi's A Kid Called Cudi. This tape dropped a while ago with the help of 10 Deep and Plain Pat and is still basically fueling Cudi's career. Regardless, this mixtape is dope. "Cudi Spazzin" is the single that initially gained the most recognition due to its sick hook. I am really digging "Is There Any Love?" feat. Wale/"Embrace The Martian"/ "Maui Wowie"/ "T.G.I.F." (same feel as "Cudi Spazzin"). Download both and you won't be dissapointed.
